About Us
The Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT) exists to create safer, healthier, more equitable places by working with and supporting communities in creating safer streets for walking and riding bikes. TCAT advances knowledge and evidence to build support for safe and inclusive streets for walking and cycling.
Founded as a grassroots collective in 2006, TCAT become a project of Clean Air Partnership (CAP) in 2008. CAP is a charitable environmental organization launched in 2000 that enables communities to improve air quality, advance active transportation, and take bold climate action. We convene networks, lead research and knowledge transfer, and catalyze transformative action.
About the Position
Reporting to the TCAT Director, the Project Coordinator will coordinate and deliver TCAT's work. Our current projects include managing our Newmarket Cycles community bike hub, conducting surveys and analyzing data evaluating opportunities for increasing access to urban nature and cycling in Toronto, convening a community of practice of grassroots organizations seeking to address transport poverty in Canada, translating academic research for practitioner use, and researching best practices and innovative approaches to active transportation.
The Project Coordinator also helps develop new project ideas and write funding proposals in collaboration with the TCAT Director. We are looking for candidates who are excited by the idea of developing new methods of moving active transportation forward and who can identify gaps in how municipalities, organizations, and communities currently pursue active transportation initiatives.
We recognize that there are many different ways to approach this work. We value different lived experiences and methods of engaging with active transportation. If you are applying from outside an active transportation lens, please tell us in your cover letter how your experience fits with TCAT’s mission.
